The Ellerslie Festival of One Act Plays 2015

Six plays have been selected for the Festival. Four require cast and the auditions are as follows. Please note that ages are guidelines only.

REHEARSALS
Commence Monday 15 June 2015 and are week evenings and Sunday afternoons.

SEASON
Thursday 20 to Saturday 29 August 2015 - 5 performances of each play including 1 matinee.

Acts and Omissions – Audition at 10.30am
Written and directed by Richard De Luca
“What’s worse: doing something bad or choosing not to do something good? Three people are forced to come to terms with their pasts and futures.”

Tom - male - 30 to 50 - a cop, a good man, but one who has to come to terms with past actions.
Peter - male - 35 to 60 - mature and wordly wise but not all that he seems to be.

Cat and Mouse - Audition at 10.30am
Written by Sally Sutton and directed by David Blakey
Doug brings Cat her meals during her trail, and, eventually, believing her guilty of murdering her husband, asks her a favour.

Cat - female - 40s - a pest exterminator, on trial for the murder of her husband.
Doug - male - 40s - has volunteered to work in the prison because of a prison officer's strike.
Lawyer - female or male - 30 plus - is prosecuting Cat's trial.

The Rosenberg Sisters - Audition at 12.30pm
Written by Michelanne Forster and directed by Linda Pudney
The lives of Elsa, Mim and Lotte are laid bare and they must pay a high personal price in an attempt to leave their war experiences behind.

Mim (Miriam) – female - 50 to 60 - the middle sister, jovial and the peace maker of the three.
Lotto (Charlotte) – female - 40 to 50 - the youngest, more relaxed and fun loving sister.

Farewell - Audition at 12.30pm
Written by David Blakey and directed by Carl Drake
David, happily married and a successful lawyer, searches for the truth of what happened to his best friend twenty two years earlier.

Jesse - male - teen - a sixteen year old boy. Friend of David.
Alison - female - mid 30s to early 40s - An artist in her mid 30s. Married to Dave.
Dave - male - mid 30s to mid 40s - A lawyer in his late 30s. Married to Alison.
Simon - male - teen - a 16 to 18 year old boy. Son of Dave and Alison
