This artful romantic comedy is set in a Paris just emerging from the ‘Naughty Nineties’ into the start of the twentieth century.
The play centres on Gigi, a gawky tomboyish teenager, who is being trained by two scheming matriarchs to follow the family tradition. Gigi is to become a highly paid courtesan within the upper levels of Parisian Society. With their sights set on ensnaring a wealthy, flamboyant Parisian playboy, the matriarch’s fear their training has failed when things do not go as planned.
