You might find all of these genres in the third biennial AMI Ellerslie One Act Play Festival. This festival has become a highly coveted venue for playwrights to submit original works and as a mentoring event for new directors.
This year six plays, including five locally written premières, have been selected from a number of submissions with three plays being performed at each show. One act plays contain various themes, each accomplishing its own level of relevance with efficient use of dialogue and technical elements. Actors, directors and playwrights have been busy crafting these brilliant plays with an independent spirit into works of art that invoke laughter, compassion and inspiration. The result is a journey of emotions, making for a tremendously entertaining festival.
