The Proposal is set in the house of the wealthy Stephen who receives a visit from his neighbour, Ian. After some polite introductions and conversation, it transpires that he has come to make a marriage proposal to Stephen’s daughter Natalie. But Ian tries to settle the ownership issue of their shared kiwifruit orchard at the same time. It’s hard to decipher which is less compatible.
