MEMORIAL SHOW FOR MAXINE BURGHAM-PAGE
Actor, director, – “the other M” of MSM Theatre.
Died 8.4.2010
“We’re Strangers Here” is set in a Spanish Hotel in the 1960’s. It follows the chance meeting of two very different British couples on holiday by the sea. A flirtation, suspicion, accusation, revenge ….. conflict and comedy ensue. The play later became a hit TV series called “Duty Free”.

Sue, Max and Maxine formed MSM Theatre in 2007 to stage three of top British playwright Alan Bennett’s monologues “Talking Heads”. This show was presented at ETS in Sept 2008 and also toured elsewhere.

It was Maxine’s wish when diagnosed with brain cancer a year ago, that MSM Theatre should continue, and she was delighted when rehearsals were underway a few months before her death.

Thus MSM Theatre is back September 23 to 25, at The Stables Theatre, Ellerslie, in association with Ellerslie Theatrical Society, to perform “We’re Strangers Here” a comedy by another top British playwright Eric Chappell – best known for his TV series “Rising Damp”.

In an interesting acting challenge, Max and Sue Golding play both couples.
