Rex McIntosh

Rex has been acting since 1984. His first major role was as The King in “The King and I” for the Otamatea Repertory Theatre in Northland. Many major roles have followed since then including King Arthur in “Camelot,” President Peron in “Evita” and Billy Flynn in “Chicago.” On TV, Rex has appeared in “Street Legal,” “Mercy Peak” and four times on “Shortland Street.” He has also appeared in many TV commercials and most recently as the Latin Dancer for Lotto’s ‘Big Wednesday.’ Rex’s film performances include three “48 Hour” films and him being the mayor of New York in Peter Jackson’s, “King Kong.”

Rex has been acting and directing for over 35 years. A few of his principal roles have been in Camelot, Evita, Chicago, ’Allo ’Allo! (where he was nominated Best Actor in the NAPTA Awards for René Artois) and Oliver. He loves being onstage and interacting with a live audience, although he has frequently branched into film, television and television commercials.
